Garden Club has already started for 2024, check back next year!
Every Tuesday from May 7th through September
Cost: $120 non-members or $108 members
(only $6 per week!)
During summer ~ 8:00 - 10:00 am
During school ~ 3:30 - 5:30 pm
Open to kids completing 2nd grade and older
Located at Sparks Park - 939 N Hwy 86 in Lakefield, MN
Garden Club is a summer-long day camp, designed to teach your child the ins and outs of gardening. From planning their garden, to planting, to water, to harvesting, they will learn what it takes to manage a garden and get to see the fruits of their labor!
This is an ideal opportunity for youth to learn about Minnesota's agricultural heritage first-hand as they experience the joy of digging through the soil and the fun of picking produce and the delight of eating food they raised themselves.
Gardeners gather one day each week to care for their garden and complete fun activities, such as decorating produce bags to take home their goodies, create garden flags, and make stepping stones – just to name a few! They also learn how to make healthy foods using the garden's produce and get to sample tasty snacks made from garden herbs and veggies, like lemon balm popsicles, salsa and mulberry muffins. Plus, they'll take home all the veggies they grow! Attendance at every session is encouraged, but not required.
