January 20th: NERVES and MUSCLES and BONES, Oh My!
This winter we’re exploring the different systems of the body, and what better place to start than the systems that help us move? We’ll learn more about our bones, muscles, and brain and how they all work together to keep us going. We’ll also explore the similarities and differences between the bodies of humans and animals. You might find we’re not as different as you think!
February 14th: Matters of the Heart...and Lungs
Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to learn more about the heart! Is love stored there? Is it really shaped like that? The heart works closely with the lungs to keep us alive. We’ll learn more about their relationship and what love and oxygen actually have to do with one another…
February 17th: Germ Busters
February means the end of the cold and flu season is near. Your body has been working hard all winter to keep you healthy. Learn what your body has been up to and how it defends itself against outsiders using its immune system and what snot’s got to do with it!
March 28th: From Food to Feces
With food and water, it’s in one end and out the other, but what happens in between? The digestive and excretory systems help our body absorb energy and nutrients from the things we eat and drink. We’ll also explore some of nature’s burning questions, like why is bird poop white?
