Geology of Minnesota - It Rocks! Grades - 3-6
If you take all rocks for granite, then this program is for you! Students from Mountain Lake Elementary in Mountain Lake, Pleasantview Elementary in Lakefield, SSC Elementary in Heron Lake, Winfair Elementary in Windom, and Immanuel Lutheran in Lakefield learned how rocks are formed, what kinds of rock formations we have in Minnesota and how to identify several rock types in this fun-filled afterschool program, directed by PEBC Naturalist Alisha Flemming. Just how hard are rocks, anyway? Which is the hardest? Which ones can we break with our hands? The group discovered the answers to these questions through fun games and bizarre experiments - as they became geologists for the day.
