Nature Of Learning
Hills-Beaver Creek Elementary Fifth Graders boarded the Prairie Ecology Bus on October 11 for a day of learning at Northern Tall Grass Prairie & Touch the Sky National Wildlife Refuge, north of Luverne. The students studied the program Nature of Learning, a combination prairie class, seed harvest, with phenology and observation activities, under the direction of Executive Director Chrystal Dunker, and Naturalists Alisha Flemming and Clay Steele. Every student received a journal to record their findings. The group were also fortunate to be part of the unveiling of the kiosk sign. Dedication speakers were Barry Christenson, District Manager of US Fish & Wildlife Service, Alice Hanley, Northern Tallgrass Prairie President, and Photographer & Filmmaker Jim Brandenburg of The Brandenburg Prairie Foundation. |
