Art In Nature/Turtles & Snakes & Frogs, Oh My!
Blue Earth Community Ed Children from grades 3-6 joined PEBC Naturalist Clay Steele on August 9 at Steinberg Park for his program - Art In Nature. Nature is filled with all kinds of beauty and artists have been capturing it for ages. The students from the Blue Earth area had their chance to use different artist tools and color combinations, to sketch, color and paint nature in many different ways by using parts of Nature herself to make one-of-a-kind works of art. At the same time, Blue Earth youth ages K-grades 2 met in the Elementary Art Room with Naturalist Alisha Flemming as she presented her program entitled Turtles & Snakes & Frogs, Oh My! Herpetology is the study of reptiles and amphibians. Students met some of Minnesota's own "herps!" They became fast friends with a live Turtle, and came nose to nose with a Bull Frog, followed by fun activities and games. |
