Super Senses/Wacky Weather
As humans, we rely a lot on our sense of sight when exploring nature. However, there is so much more out there than we realize when we only use our eyes! By exploring with our noses, ears and fingers, we will discover a whole new world in Nature. Naturalist Alisha Flemming traveled to Fairmont on July 19 where she hosted a class of Five Lakes CE youth in this exploratory class to help build the preschoolers’ awareness of the natural world. This was a touchy-feely, sniffy-smelly, chirpy-croaky fun class filled with activities that used the children's sensational senses! The Second class she presented was Wacky Weather - You’ve probably been told to come inside when dark rain clouds start rolling in – especially when you see lighting strikes and hear the thunder! Do you ever wonder how powerful storms happen? The community education group learned about these and other crazy, powerful weather phenomenon! |
