Prairie Steak Fry
Prairie Ecology Bus Center's Third Annual Steak Fry was held on Monday, August 9, at the Heron Lake Community Center. A full steak dinner grilled by the Cattlemen’s Association, with dessert by the Jackson County Dairy Association, was enjoyed by close to 200. A short PEBC program was held after dinner, followed by an entertaining presentation from Humorist and Storyteller Al Batt, sponsored by FCA. The Lakefield Girl Scouts helped serve the meal. Flower arrangements were provided by Village Green Florist & Greenhouse. The event was sponsored by Extended Ag Services, Inc., and Extended Ag Insurance Services, Inc. This year's raffle prize, a Toro Residential Zero Turn Lawnmower, was won by Steve Johnson of Mankato.
