| 8th Annual Prairie Winds Kite Fly It was a beautiful September day for this year's Prairie Winds Kite Fly, held at the Jackson Municipal Airport from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (always on the second Saturday of September). Over 700 visitors attended our event. Professional kite flyers from Minneapolis, Omaha, NE, and Jamestown, ND, were out in full force with an array of giant kites. A kite collector from Maple Grove, shared his kite memorabilia collection with visitors. Children were able to create their own sled kites to fly, with help from PEBC's staff and friends. The children enjoyed the Kids Candy Drop, candy that was dropped from a high flying kite. We were entertained by DJ Tom Van Weston and concessions were provided by Godfather's Pizza of Windom. Our own Kite Doctor Bert McClain was kept busy all day mending broken kites. |
