Green Thumb Detectives - Grades 3-6
Everywhere we go, when we think about agriculture, we usually think about plants! Whether it's growing plants to provide us food, clothing, medicine, and shelter or feeding them to livestock (or wild animals)...we can't live without plants! Riverside Elementary students in Jackson, Windom Elementary students in Windom, Pleasantview Elementary students in Lakefield, SSC Elementary students in Heron Lake, and Mountain Lake Elementary students in Mountain Lake became plant detectives and explored the many roles that plants play during this afterschool program presented by PEBC Naturalist Clay Steele. Activities included making hand-made wildflower paper, edible seeds and a take-home garden! |
