  Insects, Microscopes, Cell Biology
A little hike around Sparks Park in Lakefield on September 27 gave the Pleasantview Elementary Second Graders an opportunity to look for some of the coolest mini-beasts around – insects!  Insects are found in every ecosystem and on every continent in the world.  They are remarkable animals and students learned just what makes an insect an insect.  To make this program even more relevant, Naturalists Clay Steele and Alisha Flemming helped participants discover which groups of insects make our region their home. They also had the opportunity to explore and collect specimens for further observation under the cameras on the Ecology Bus. On October 25 Fourth Graders were introduced to the Microscope Bus Program and Fifth Graders studied Cell Biology.
