Prairie Steak Fry
A full steak dinner grilled by the Cattlemen’s Association, with dessert by the Jackson County Dairy Association, was held on Monday, August 3 at the Heron Lake Community Center. A short PEBC program was held after dinner, followed by an entertaining presentation from Dr. Mark Seeley, Professor of Meteorology and Climatology from the University of Minnesota.  Dr. Seeley is a weekly commentator on MN Public Radio and writes a weekly newsletter “Minnesota Weather Talk”, has authored “MN Weather Almanac” and is the co-author of the forthcoming book “Waters and Skies of Voyageurs National Park". The "Friend of Nature" award was presented to Gary and Jean Rathman. The Lakefield Girl Scouts helped serve the meal. Flower arrangements were provided by Village Green Florist & Greenhouse.
