Bug's Life
All sorts of critters live outside.  Some are creepy and crawly.  Some fly and buzz by your ears.  Some may land on your arm and tickle you!  They come in all shapes, sizes and colors.  Of these critters, some of the tiniest are simply the coolest!  We’re talking about bugs!  Blue Earth ECFE joined the Prairie Ecology Bus Center naturalists recently to find out if bugs are really creepy, which ones fly and buzz and which might just tickle!  They learned characteristics of insects and talked about their life cycles!

Plant Power
Days are getting longer and nature seems to be coming back to life again. The landscape is once again painted with vibrant colors during our summer months.  Prairie Ecology Bus Center naturalists joined the Blue Earth ECFE to teach how plants survived the winter in our northern climate.  They learned the specialized parts to a plant, discovered how their “plant power” helps us sustain life, and planted a garden seed take home!
