We are not the only ones who enjoy being out on hot, summer days. You may hear another of nature's summer friends if you listen carefully. You may recognize the cicada's call of
zee-oo, zee-oo from the tops of trees.
The periodical cicada is probably the most well known, emerging once every thirteen or seventeen years (depending on the species). Unfortunately, we don't have this species in Minnesota.
The cicada call can be quite noisy.
