American Robin

Little Robin red-breast is one of the most well-known signs of springs arrival. Not only do we see the flash of orange on its breast, but also hear the cheery sound of its call.

Ine the spring, summer and fall months, this bird makes its home from Northern Canada all throughout the United States. Some robins may occasionally overwinter in the northern part of the United States and southern Canada, although most winter in the southern parts of the United States to Central America. Most head south around the end of August and make their first appearance in February and March.

As with many migratory birds, the males return to their northern home before the females and start looking for places to build nests. The females then choose their mates based on songs, plumage, and the best territory.
